1. Arkansas State has a unique offense

Lane Bonner got the majority of the load and played extremely well on the road against a Big 12 opponent. Bonner was efficient as he was 17-for-26 with 204 yards and two touchdowns, with only one interception.

Although Arkansas State’s wide receivers made fantastic plays, it was Bonner with the excellent ball placement to give his players a chance to go get the football.

It was Bonner who made plays early, it was the go to target, Jay Adams late that made a statement for the Red Wolves.

With less than a minute to go, Johnathon Adams made a fantastic play in the end zone to give the Red Wolves a 35-31 lead. Jay Adams would lead the Red Wolves with eight catches, 98 yards and three humongous touchdowns.

For Arkansas State, this is a humongous win for a program that has been on the rise under Blake Anderson. After dropping their first game to Memphis, this could be momentum that could be carried throughout the season.

For Kansas State, this is certainly not how the Wildcats expected to begin their season. Underwhelming defense and a missing piece to their offense was the downfall for the gentlemen in purple and silver.

Arkansas State will be back home next week, facing off against FCS Central Arkansas. For Kansas State, no rest for the weary as they travel to Norman, Okla., to play No. 6 Oklahoma.
