The first two weeks of the season have already seen plenty of great games and big shakeups for the College Football Playoff race.

The first week of the 2020 college football season was an appetizer for sports fans with some big games from the group of five conferences. While these games served as introductions performances to the season, they didn’t leave too much of an impact in the race for the College Football Playoff.

The second week of the regular season was the beginning of play for some of the teams from Power Five.

The No. 1 Clemson Tigers and No. 5 Oklahoma Sooners were two of several teams from Power Five conferences that started their seasons this past weekend. Even after one week, there was a huge impact on the race for the College Football Playoff.

The race is day-to-day as the Big Ten is still struggling to decide to play competitive football in the fall.

While some teams were able to showcase their point for their journey for the playoffs, there are teams like Iowa State and Kansas State that may have killed their chances with embarrassing losses to Group of Five teams.

As far as the top teams in the nation, they will push for a College Football Playoff spot in a highly unorthodox season.

This week will start a serious start structure and push for the College Football Playoff with which week being an even more important factor due to the shortening of the season. One game could literally be the last chance for a Power Five team and potentially a contender from the Group of Five.
