ACC football power rankings, Week 3: Clemson looks dominant yet again

7. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (1-0)
For the second year in a row, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have upset a team from Florida. Last season, the Jackets went to Hard Rock and defeated the Miami Hurricanes, and this season they went to Doak Campbell and came away with a 16-13 win.
Was the win proof of ‘Tech’s growth under Geoff Collins, or evidence that Florida State is a dumpster fire? In reality, it’s both.
The Yellow Jackets showed tremendous growth last season, especially defensively. The numbers don’t bear it because the offense was so bad last season. This year, however, Collins has found his quarterback.
True freshman quarterback Jeff Sims is the real deal. He led the Jackets in both passing and rushing in their game against Florida State. Most importantly, Sims looked composed and mature beyond his years. If Sims continues this arc of play, Georgia Tech is going to get someone else.
