1. Baylor (vs. Houston)

Let’s keep the misery going and poke the Big 12 with a stick to see if there’s any movement.

Baylor was good last year. Real good. So good, in fact, they were an overtime away from what would have likely been their first College Football Playoff appearance.

Charlie Brewer is back at quarterback for the Bears and he’s shown that he’s a solid, dependable player. They do have a new head coach in defensive wizard Dave Aranda. They’re going to need Aranda, as Baylor’s defense only returns two starters.

Houston should be much better in Dana Holgorsen’s second year. He is no stranger to Baylor and the Big 12 having been the former  head man at West Virginia, including for an incredible 70-63 win in 2012.

Houston returns 15 starters (seven on offense, eight on defense) and both the players and coaching staff knows the pressure is on to keep Houston in contention for not only the AAC title game, but also a potential College Football Playoff berth.
