833. Scouting Report. 0-0. idle in Week 3. Kentucky Wildcats. 24. Pick Analysis. player

We will know right out of the gate whether or not Kentucky is a worthy candidate for the AP Top 25 when they head to the Plains for a critical Week 4 showdown against Auburn in the season opener for both teams. The Wildcats bumped up into the rankings last week despite remaining idle, in large part because of the removal of Big Ten and Pac-12 programs from the list who were ranked ahead of them in the preseason.

Mark Stoops’ team enters 2020 with a lot of hope, as they boast the most experienced returning roster in the SEC East. While that returning talent doesn’t include Lynn Bowden Jr., the wide receiver-turned-Wildcat quarterback, it does include starting quarterback Terry Wilson. If Wilson has fully recovered from the knee injury that cost him most of the 2019 season, Kentucky has real potential to play spoiler to division favorites Florida and Georgia.

While they avoided defending College Football Playoff champion LSU in interdivisional scheduling, the league office did Kentucky no favors with road trips to Auburn and Alabama.
