Auburn Football: 3 bold predictions for ranked battle vs. Kentucky
1. Kavoisey Smoke is the best RB on the field.
In a crowded position on both teams, there is by most standards not a definitive answer on who is the best running back on the field, Kentucky running back Kavoisey Smoke is the one I’m choosin and I believe he has the potential to take over where Benny Snell and Lynn Bowden left off as a 1,000-yard rusher and the Wildcats’ go-to option.
Auburn has a very deep backfield with many potentially talented backs, including Harold Joiner, but seeing Smoke last year, I think he has the biggest breakout potential, especially amongst the running backs group in Kentucky.
Smoke had six touchdowns, like the two other running backs in the group, but he had the longest run at 70 yards. If you watched Kentucky at all last season, there were times when you would see Smoke break for long runs. He averaged more than seven yards a carry. If Smoke was in the zone, he would be unstoppable at times, especially against Vanderbilt. I see him having a decent game despite the fact that I do think Kentucky will lose this game to the Tigers.
With a talented offensive line with many of the players across the board and any of the three running backs that make up Kentucky’s core offense, I believe Smoke is the one that will do it.
