3. LSU will top last year’s offensive output vs. Mississippi State

Last year, LSU traveled down to Mississippi State and gave them a good walloping, winning the game 36-13. I think you can expect LSU to score more points on the Bulldogs.

Yes, there are many positions that the Tigers are trying to replace. However, if you compare the level of talent on both of these teams, it’s hard to imagine the Bulldogs finding any way to stop this offense. Between Myles Brennan at the quarterback position, and receivers Racey McMath and Terrace Marshall Jr., this offense is going to find some instant success.

Don’t sleep on Brennan. I think you are going to see some phenomenal things from him this season.

The Bulldogs have two defenders that the Tigers will have to keep an eye on closely. Linebacker Erroll Thompson is probably on his way to an All-SEC nomination and safety Landon Guildry is the biggest threat in the secondary. However, looking at the depth charts as potential matchups across the board, there is nothing that will really do the trick and help Mississippi State lock up some of this athleticism across the board.

The rumors coming out of the LSU program is that the players were leading players-only practices while the coaches were not permitted to lead team practices. This team is coming into the year with a chip on their shoulder and they are coming with a vengeance. That will start with a dominant Week 1 performance.
