College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 5
By Zach Bigalke
UCF took care of business in their make-up game against East Carolina in Week 4, trouncing the Pirates 51-28 on the road to earn their second win of the season. Pollsters will be hard-pressed to justify moving the Knights down their ballots even with the return of the Big Ten and Pac-12 after Josh Heupel’s team racked up 632 yards of offense in victory. The defense did its part as well, holding East Carolina under 50 percent passing and forcing four turnovers.
Dillon Gabriel looked even better than he did in the season opener against Georgia Tech, completing 32 of his 47 passes for 408 yards and four touchdowns. The offensive line kept Gabriel clean all day, as he avoided even a single sack. Greg McCrae led the way on the ground, rushing for 83 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. As a team, the Knights averaged 5.6 yards per carry as they finished with 224 rushing yards.
Now UCF returns to Orlando to prepare for their home opener against Tulsa. They will remain the top Group of Five team as they head into Week 5 action.
