College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 5
By Zach Bigalke
Miami is quickly positioning themselves as a team to beat in the ACC this season. The Hurricanes are now 3-0 after easily dispatching rival Florida State at home on Saturday. Up 38-10 on the Seminoles at the end of the third quarter Manny Diaz’s squad will move into the top 10 of the AP Top 25 even after Pac-12 and Big Ten teams are slotted back into the poll this week.
D’Eriq King continues to look like the missing piece that separated the Hurricanes from the truly elite teams in the country. The former Houston quarterback went 29-of-40 for 267 yards and a pair of touchdowns and added 65 rushing yards as well before ceding to N’Kosi Perry early in the fourth quarter. Cam’Ron Harris and Donald Chaney Jr. both punched in a couple of rushing touchdowns. Miami’s defense got to break out the Turnover Chain once again.
After a bye in Week 5, we will get to see how good Miami truly is this season when they head on the road for an October 10 showdown against defending ACC champion Clemson.
