Scouting Report. won 23-20 vs. No. 24 Louisville. 24. Pick Analysis. 2-0. Pittsburgh Panthers. player. 866

Pittsburgh hosted Louisville on Saturday in an ACC duel between two well-matched Top 25 programs. Most of the scoring took place in the first half, as the Panthers held on for a 23-20 victory to improve to 2-0 on the year. After entering the week at No. 21 in the AP Top 25, Pat Narduzzi’s crew should remain somewhere in the final five spots of the rankings even after teams are slotted back in from the Big Ten and the Pac-12.

Kenny Pickett performed decently though not spectacularly, throwing for 220 yards with two touchdowns and an interception on 23-of-38 passing. His counterpart, Malik Cunningham, was tormented by a Pitt defense that forced three interceptions and allowed just nine completions on 21 passing attempts for 107 yards through the air.

It was enough to cling to poll position for another week, but the Panthers cannot continue to skirt by and expect to remain ranked. Pittsburgh will look to show a more dynamic side in their October 3 showdown at home against NC State.
