Scouting Report. 2-0. won 27-13 vs. West Virginia. player. 856. Pick Analysis. Oklahoma State Cowboys. 20

It was by no means a stellar performance for Oklahoma State as they took down West Virginia in Big 12 play on Saturday. The Cowboys prevailed 27-13 at home in Stillwater, moving to 2-0 on the year and positioning themselves as one of the teams to beat in the conference race. They will nevertheless drop down a bit in the AP Top 25 heading into Week 5.

Shane Illingworth had a rough game, throwing for just 139 yards and an interception on 15-of-21 passing. The backfield picked up the slack, as LD Brown and Chuba Hubbard both topped the 100-yard mark on the ground and each punched in a touchdown run. The Cowboys defense allowed 285 passing yards to Jarret Doege, but just 67 rushing yards against the Mountaineers as they built up a big first-half lead and held on to the finish.

With their state rival falling and Texas taken to the wire by Texas Tech, could Mike Gundy’s team be the best in the Big 12 this year? They will likely be 3-0 after Week 5 when they travel to Lawrence to face hapless Kansas.
