1. Turnovers by Texas helped kept Texas Tech in the game

It started when the Texas kickoff return team was unable to receive the Trey Wolff onside kick that was recovered by Texas Tech at the Red Raiders 46-yard line.

Then Texas botched a punt return that found its way into Xavier Martin of Texas Tech as he took the fumble and returned it for a Red Raiders touchdown.

Later, Sam Ehlinger threw a pass that was intercepted by Texas Tech’s Alex Hogan and returned for 24 yards to the Texas 10-yard line. Texas Tech would take the lead in the second half and entered the fourth quarter with the lead.

The turnovers don’t tell the whole story as Texas Tech’s high-powered offense played well but the they made this a very close game late in the fourth quarter.
