2. Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

Clemson and Trevor Lawrence were off this past week, but he still belongs high up on the Heisman watch list. He has thrown for 519 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another three touchdowns in his first two games against Wake Forest and The Citadel.

Not the most impressive stats but he didn’t play the full game either week. Lawrence had a slow start last season that dropped his odds coupled with Joe Burrow’s rise. He was the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy this year and he is still listed as just that alongside D’Eriq King and Justin Fields.

What could end up killing Lawrence is how good his team is.

If Clemson continues to steamroll teams and Lawrence doesn’t play many fourth quarters, his numbers will obviously suffer and he could be taken out of the Heisman conversation. It’s too early to talk about that but for now Lawrence belongs as one of the favorites to take home the Heisman.
