1. Kyle Trask, QB, Florida

Florida had a lot of hype coming into the season as the team that could possibly knock off Alabama and win the SEC. Kyle Trask was the leading returning passer in the SEC.

We saw why Trask and this Gators team were called legit contenders. Trask was 30-for-42 for 416 yards and six touchdowns. He became the first Florida quarterback to throw three or more touchdowns in the opening game since Tim Tebow in 2007, as well as tying Joe Burrow’s SEC opening game record with the six touchdowns.

The duo of Trask and Kyle Pitts is going to be a problem for SEC defenses this year. Pitts caught four of Trask’s six touchdowns and added 170 receiving yards. If Trask ends up hoisting the Heisman this year, he should have Pitts right by his side. Pitts is a matchup nightmare at tight end and is going to make Trask’s life a lot easier.

It’s pretty clear now that Florida will go as far as this duo takes them, and if the Gators make a run, Trask will be at the Heisman ceremony.
