ACC Football Power Rankings, Week 5: There’s a Hurricane brewing

2. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2-0, 1-0)
This week, Notre Dame’s game against Wake Forest has been postponed until December. Miami has played so well people have forgotten about the Irish. After two dominant wins over Duke and South Florida, the Irish look to continue their winning ways against woeful Florida State on Oct. 10.
Through their first two games, the Irish have shown their improved offensive speed. Young running backs Kyren Williams, C’Bo Flemisher and Chris Tyree have contributed to an explosive running game. Redshirt senior quarterback Ian Book has distributed the ball among many receivers. Six receivers have at least four receptions with tight end Tommy Tremble leading the team in receptions.
The defense has pitched one shut out already this season. Neither Duke nor South Florida are offensive juggernauts by any stretch, but Notre Dame’s dominance over their first two opponents cannot be overlooked. It will be interesting to see how dominant they look against Florida State.
The Irish won’t truly be tested until they meet Pitt’s nasty pass rush on Oct. 24.
