8. Boston College Eagles (2-0, 1-0)

Here at headquarters, our newest member Doug “Too Tall” Flutie is trying to help us make heads or tails of the Boston College Eagles this season. In their first game of the season, the Eagles rolled the Duke Blue Devils 26-6. Notre Dame transfer Phil Jurkovec had as an impressive debut as one could have under these current circumstances.

The Notre Dame transfer threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns against the Blue Devils in the Eagles’ season opener. Jukovec’s second game against Texas State was equally impressive, throwing for 268 yards and having three total touchdowns, including the game-winner.

Texas State has shown signs of improvement in Jake Spavital’s second season. However, it’s Texas State. They are a Group of Five programs with a roster that lacks depth. Given how well the Eagles performed against Duke, it was surprising the Bobcats out-gained them.

Boston College is a work in progress, however. The running game has left lots to be desired this season despite having a veteran offensive line. Boston College’s October is quite daunting, beginning with hosting North Carolina and Virginia Tech and ending the month on the road against Clemson.

We’ll know what the Eagles are sooner rather than later.
