2. Sam Ehlinger, QB, Texas

Last Game: win vs. TTU (63-56) 27-40, 262 yards, 5 TDs, 1 INTs, 1 rush TD
Season Stats: 71.2% completions, 688 yards, 10 TDs, 1 INTs, 192.9 RTG, 1 rush TD

Sam Ehlinger’s stock is rising quickly. The Longhorns have won two-straight games to start the season, and Texas’ vocal leader has passed for five touchdowns in each contest. His on-field performance and refusal to lay down during a comeback overtime win on the road at Texas Tech has his teammates comparing him to Tom Brady.

Expect his stock to continue rising, as Ehlinger will be involved in plenty of shootouts in the Big 12 this fall. He’s no stranger to carrying the load for a Texas offense that has lacked a complementary running game during his time in Austin.

If forced to, Ehlinger will certainly lower his shoulder to run a defender over in a similar fashion to former-Heisman winner Tim Tebow. Honestly, he had a monster 2019 season and is already starting this season off on the right foot.
