College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 6
By Zach Bigalke
After their 47-7 demolition of Kansas in Lawrence on Saturday coupled with the loss by Texas, Oklahoma State is now the lone undefeated team remaining in the Big 12. The Cowboys overwhelmed the Jayhawks in all phases of the game and locked down what should be a bump up one or two spots toward the top 15 of the AP Top 25 when it releases on Sunday in anticipation of Week 6 play.
Chuba Hubbard showed why he entered the season as a Heisman hopeful. The running back finished with 145 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, nearly outgaining the entire Jayhawks offense by himself. The defense dominated Kansas, holding their hosts to just 193 total yards by air and land. Shane Illingworth looked solid once again at quarterback, finishing with 265 yards and three touchdowns on 17-of-23 passing.
Oklahoma State now gets the chance to sit at home in Week 6 and take a much-needed rest before hitting the road again for an October 17 clash with Baylor. With Iowa State after that, the Cowboys will likely be 5-0 when they welcome Texas to Stillwater on Halloween.
