3. Spencer Rattler has flashes of what Kyler Murray was

It’s a rare situation when it comes to quarterback for OU. Never has there been a transition of quarterbacks with experience, prior to starting. To go along with a still lacking Big 12 defense, Lincoln Riley sets up each of them with a ton of success.

One way Rattler he has been the exception to that rule is that he is just a redshirt Freshman. Rattler has made freshman-esque mistakes, especially in the second half of Kansas State.

What you can also see in his game is quite a bit of what Kyler Murray did at Oklahoma. Riley has had to change his scheme in some kind of way, in order to fit what is best for his quarterbacks.

Riley’s system for Rattler is a bit like Murray. If you don’t believe his game is similar, maybe this could be convincing.

While Rattler has a long way to go and more consistent play to be compared to Murray. Rattler certainly has the ability to have a similar impact for Oklahoma as Murray did during his Heisman campaign with Oklahoma.

Until he cleans those late game mistakes, he will be a talent that needs more time.
