1. The Wildcats are a legitimate Big 12 threat

Kansas State overcame some adversity in this win. First, everyone was interested to see how they’d perform after the win over Oklahoma last week. That was the biggest talking point of the week and Kansas State delivered a solid answer.

They also lost Skylar Thompson in the second quarter. They still won with a backup quarterback in Will Howard and a solid defensive effort. And don’t forget, Texas Tech came back from down 14 to take a 21-17 fourth quarter lead. Kansas State immediately responded with a touchdown three plays later.

The Wildcats didn’t give up at any point during the game and continued to fight, playing their brand of football. Kansas State has another test next week against TCU.

Kansas State likely isn’t a playoff contender, but as Oklahoma can prove, you had better beware of a dangerous Wildcat team.
