2. Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

After a few lackluster performances to start his year, Trevor Lawrence came out and showed why he still is one of the Heisman favorites. He threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-23 win over Virginia. He now has thrown for 848 yards and seven touchdowns in his first three games.

After not having to play the second half against Wake Forest and The Citadel, Lawrence is finally getting some better opponents where he can stuff his stat sheet.

This week’s matchup against Miami will be huge in terms of the ACC title game race as well as the Heisman race. D’Eriq King and Lawrence are both near the top of the odds boards for the award. Whoever has the better game will be in a great spot to at least get an invitation to the Heisman ceremony.

This might just be the best ACC game of the season and it’ll have more than just playoff implications as both players are looking to gain that upper hand in the Heisman race.
