SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 6: Tennessee, Arkansas on the rise

Missouri falls one spot to the bottom of the conference in the second week of SEC play. The Tigers have now lost to Alabama and Tennessee, neither of which they really hung in with throughout the matchups. New head coach Eli Drinkwitz is still trying to work out the kinks. The rushing defense gave up  242 yards and four touchdowns to Tennessee and the quarterback situation still isn’t figured out. Things aren’t looking good for the Tigers.

The Commodores also fall one spot after a beat down by LSU, 41-7. Unlike Missouri, the Commodores have settled on Ken Seals as their quarterback. However, after being able to stop the Aggies and limit them to 17 points, they were blown out by LSU, which put up 41 points on the ‘Dores. Things aren’t looking good for this team who may or may not go 0-fer this season.

How long is Will Muschamp’s job safe? That seems like the million-dollar question this season and while I don’t know the answer, I know that he isn’t off to a good start as the Gamecocks are 0-2. After nearly beating Tennessee in the first week of SEC play, the Gamecocks struggled with the likes of Florida — something that is expected, of course. They get Vanderbilt in a week and that should get them in the win column.

I had so much faith in the Wildcats with Terry Wilson coming back but man, have they proven me wrong in the early goings of the season. After a game in which they out-gained Auburn throughout the matchup and still lost, they then lost a heartbreaker to Ole Miss due to a missed extra point after an overtime touchdown. The schedule doesn’t get easier either with Mississippi State on the menu for next week.
