3. No. 19 Virginia Tech vs. No. 8 North Carolina

Both of these teams have yet to make a serious statement so far this season, but that opportunity will arrive on Saturday.

Virginia Tech has had an unfortunate battle with COVID-19 and has been missing several players and coaches in their two games thus far. North Carolina has not looked as sharp as you might have though heading into the season, but that might be because the Tar Heels have had to wait weeks at a time between games.

The offense for the Tar Heels has not been clicking so far and has committed too many penalties. They will need to be better in both categories to win on Saturday.

This game is huge because the winner could emerge as the team that is best poised to challenge Clemson, outside of Notre Dame. While Miami will have its shot at the Tigers on Saturday, it is still up for debate on who is the second-best team in the conference.

In a year that could see the Big 12 and the Pac-12 on the outside looking in at the playoff race, the ACC could get two teams in and it could be one of these two.
