2. Javian Hawkins is one of the ACC’s best running backs

For the second time in four contests to start the year, Javian Hawkins rushed for at least 150 yards. He now has over 400 yards rushing on the young season and looks like one of the best running backs in the entire conference.

We knew coming into the season that Louisville had a “Big 3” of Malik Cunningham, Hawkins and Tutu Atwell but we probably didn’t expect him to be near the top of the country in terms of individual rushing yards, but that’s where he finds himself.

Hawkins was arguably the most consistent player for the Cardinals on Friday night, rushing for a game-high 155 yards on 26 carries and he also had three catches for 15 yards.

If Hawkins continues to play at this high of a level, he’s going to earn himself a spot on an All-ACC team, likely behind Travis Etienne, but a second-team selection is not out of the question.
