1. This loss was not on Malik Cunningham

When people look at the score, they’d be quick to blame the easy scapegoat: Malik Cunningham. Through four games, the Cardinals are 1-3 and Cunningham might have a hand in that by not living up to expectations, but he was not the problem on Friday night.

If you watched the game, Cunningham was running for his life quite a bit and when he had time to make throws, he did a solid job, completing 19-of-33 passes for 233 yards and two scores.

To make matters worse, the weather was horrible. Throwing the ball shouldn’t have been the main option, but in a back and forth game, that was one of the best ways to move the ball consistently — luckily he had Javian Hawkins playing well behind him. He did also add 50 rushing yards and two more touchdowns as he was slippery for Georgia Tech defenders.

No, this one wasn’t on Cunningham. He was the reason the Cardinals were in the game late — the final score was crazy deceiving.

The defense played terribly against the Yellow Jackets and the Cardinals had three huge turnovers. Can’t blame Cunningham for this ugly loss.
