2. Kansas State’s defense is underrated

Prior to Saturday’s win, Kansas State’s defense has had three straight games of allowing over 375 total yards on defense. The Wildcats were able to lower it to 342 yards, but the stats don’t tell the story of their performance.

They were able to come away with a major interception by AJ Parker that was returned for a touchdown. That pick was the turning point of the game and the momentum booster that led to the win.

The defense of Kansas State never allowed TCU quarterbacks Max Duggan and Matthew Downing was never able to get anything consistent going in the passing game. The secondary for Kansas State continues their underrated play with making big plays at the end of games to win.

The unit in general won’t be considered as one of the best, but they have been able to complement their offense. Their play in the fourth quarter has made a difference in their wins.
