3. UNC’s skill players shined

For the majority of the game, North Carolina did whatever they wanted on offense. Granted, Virginia Tech was down quite a few players, but that did not matter in terms of the Tar Heels production,

The Tar Heels dominated the ground game, rushing for 399 yards and had two separate backs go over the 100-yard mark. Javonte Williams and Michael Carter both eclipsed the mark as each averaged nearly 10 yards a carry.

Dyami Brown added two touchdowns, as well as, 86 yards.

A lot of the reason why North Carolina was so highly rated, was because of their returning production. This is the game the Tar Heels skilled position players needed. It puts the rest of CFB on notice that they are a threat to win the ACC.

The domination of North Carolina’s offensive line will be the unsung heroes of this game. However, it was the skill players that had to make the plays — 56 points and over 650-plus yards later, it’s a big win to keep the Tar Heels undefeated.
