3. Sam Ehlinger was electric down the stretch

It was an outstanding effort by Sam Ehlinger and company to come back with under four minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Texas offense looked dead in the mud to open up that second half. The Longhorns had three three-and-outs to start the second half and did not pick up a first down until there was 13 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

But when they needed him most, Ehlinger stepped up and played some of the best football he has played as a Longhorn. His ability to be a dual threat kept the tired Oklahoma defense on their heels. On that last drive, Ehlinger finished 3-for-5 with 38 passing yards, 27 rushing yards and the game-tying touchdown.

All in all, Ehlinger finished with six total touchdowns and 399 yards. The interception to seal the deal was not a good throw, but it would be a shame for that to overshadow all he did in Dallas on Saturday.

Ehlinger was the main source of offense for Texas and was able to push this game to its peak. This was a game they had no business taking to overtime after being dominated in the first 20 minutes of the second half. But, Ehlinger was able to will Texas to four overtimes and almost pulled off a legendary comeback.
