ACC Football Power Rankings, Week 6: Hurricanes downgraded to rain shower

5. Boston College Eagles (3-1, 2-1)
The Boston College Eagles have already begun to take the identity of their new head coach Jeff Hafley. The former Ohio State and NFL coordinator played and coach with a chip on his shoulder. That is how the Boston College Eagles have played this season. Those who follow the Eagles know they are the program that gets the players that no one else offers scholarships.
One aspect of the program that has been positive is the play of Notre Dame transfer quarterback Phil Jurkovec. The redshirt sophomore has been the best playmaker on the offense despite shaky offensive line play this season. Jurkovec seems comfortable with wide receiver Zay Flowers and tight end Hunter Long. If there is anything that has hurt the Eagles this season it is their lack of a run game.
Defensively the Eagles have been very “bend, don’t break.” The most glaring weakness on the defense is their lack of speed, especially in the secondary. That lack of speed was evident in their game against Pittsburgh. Taysir Mack and Jared Wayne got behind the Eagles’ defensive backs one too many times in that game.
The Eagles play Virginia Tech in an interesting game. Tech has been without multiple players this season due to COVID-19 and the Hokies do not know who will be available for the Boston College Game.
