ACC Football Power Rankings, Week 6: Hurricanes downgraded to rain shower

14. Florida State Seminoles (1-3, 0-3)
Seminole fans had to know this was a long road rebuilding the once-proud Florida State football program. The Seminoles playing this poorly is something that is difficult to watch. The speed of their fall is fascinating, however. This was the program that won the last BCS National Title and participated in the first College Football Playoff.
Despite their struggles this season, the Seminoles played significantly better against Notre Dame this week than they did the week before against rival Miami. Although the final score was lopsided, Florida State was able to move the ball in the first and second quarters. The Seminoles even lead after the first quarter.
Quarterback Jordan Travis has been the unexpected spark the Seminoles have been looking for at quarterback. Travis threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns running for 96 yards as well. Tate Rodemaker was ineffective when given the opportunity to start and Chubba Purdy was injured during the preseason. Incumbent starter James Blackman struggled this season as well.
Ironically, the defense has been as much an issue as the offense. Florida State has given up over 90 points in the last two games. The many first-round draft picks have not rounded into shape. The Seminoles have a long way to go before they are back to respectability.
Oh, and coach Bobby Bowden and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.
