2. Dillon Gabriel deserves more attention

After some rather pedestrian play, Dillon Gabriel showed out against one of the better Group of Five teams. Zach Wilson has gotten a lot of hype since the season has began. However, I would argue Gabriel isn’t far behind

Gabriel replaced McKenzie Milton, after a season ending injury, back in 2018. What now could be career threatening, Gabriel stepped in as the full-time starter in 2019.

Memphis’ defense is nothing to shout about, but the stats Gabriel put up are undeniably impressive. He would throw for 548 yards and five touchdowns on 31-of-42 completions, with zero interceptions. He also did some damage with his legs, with 46 yards and a touchdown.

Although only scoring nine touchdowns through his first three games, adding to this game has him at 15 on the season and with more performances similar to this, puts him in a category near Milton, in terms of production he could put up.
