2. Leddie Brown looks like the Big 12’s breakout star

For the third time this season, Leddie Brown has rushed for over 100 yards. He had his best game of the season, going for 195 yards and a touchdown on just 18 carries. He averaged 10.8 yards per touch which was aided by a huge 87-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to put the game out of reach for Kansas.

The junior running back was patiently waiting for his turn to lead the backfield and he finally got that after years of sitting behind Kennedy McKoy and Martell Pettaway, but now that he’s the main guy, he’s showing that he might just be the Big 12’s best kept secret.

Brown’s 195 yards on Saturday afternoon against Kansas was enough to put him over 500 yards yards on the season with five touchdowns. He’s now averaging 5.7 yards on the year.

The Big 12 has guys like Breece Hall, Chuba Hubbard and the entire Texas backfield leading the rushing for the league, but Brown might end up being the best of the bunch if he’s given more carries and respect.

This kid is a star.
