Big 12 Football Power Rankings, Week 8: West Virginia building resume

3. Kansas State Wildcats (3-1, 3-0)

Kansas State has two excellent road wins in conference play this season — at Oklahoma and at TCU — and with Kansas on their schedule next, the Wildcats will likely be 4-1 overall and undefeated in Big 12 play. Everyone expected to see that in 2020, right?

2. Iowa State Cyclones (3-1, 3-0)

After laying an egg in their opener against Louisiana, Iowa State’s ripped off wins against TCU, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech. That last one isn’t as impressive as the other two, but a win is a win is a win. With Oklahoma State up next, though, it’s time to find out if the Cyclones are contenders or pretenders.

1. Oklahoma State Cowboys (3-0, 2-0)

The Cowboys are the only undefeated team in the Big 12, placing them at the top of not only these power rankings, but as a contender for the College Football Playoff. They’re faced with their toughest game-to-date on Saturday, though, as they host the Iowa State Cyclones — the battle for the top spot in the Big 12.
