Rutgers football is in the news for the wrong reasons right now, but there is some slight optimism surrounding this football program and it comes at a time when the program is desperate for good news, as this has been one one of the worst programs in the entire country.

Rutgers made the decision the rehire former head coach Greg Schiano, who was the head man in Piscataway when the Scarlet Knights enjoyed the most success that they’ve had as a program.

Despite the rehiring of Schiano and some recent recruiting success, Rutgers will be a bad football team this season. They are relying on a lot of transfers this season and that could yield some mixed results.

Final Score: Penn State 56, Rutgers 10 (6-1)

A team that is undergoing an unexpected coaching change, Michigan State will be out to prove that it’s ready to contend in the post-Mark Dantonio era.

After Dantonio’s retirement, Michigan State sought to replace him with Colorado head coach Mel Tucker and he is a well respected defensive mind who will be looking to keep up the tradition of strong defensive play in East Lansing.

The Spartans enter 2020 with a lot of question marks on offense, especially at quarterback. The run game was also one of the worst in the conference. The defense was very solid last season, but lost four guys that made the All-Big Ten team last season and they won’t be easy to replace. Tucker will work out in the long run, but I think 2020 could be a rough season.

Final Score: Penn Stae 42, Michigan State 21 (7-1)
