In the Big Ten’s first primetime game of the season, Minnesota will try to prove that last season was no fluke and Michigan will try to score a much needed win against a ranked opponent.
Minnesota is one of the favorites in a tough Big Ten West and Michigan is trying to show that it’s finally ready to break through under Jim Harbaugh and show that they are ready to compete with Ohio State in the Big Ten.
Golden Gophers returning quarterback Tanner Morgan and wide receiver Rashod Bateman and should have an explosive passing attack once again. Michigan is young on both sides of the ball and come into this game rather inexperienced and it will be worth watching to see if any young stars emerge for the Wolverines.
This game has playoff implications due to it being such a high profile game early in the season and it is an opportunity for one of these teams to show that they are a contender in the Big Ten. The winner could also be on a path to show they are capable of possibly being the one loss Big Ten team capable of making it to the playoff.
