1. Clemson Tigers (6-0, 5-0 ACC)

The Clemson Tigers have started the season 6-0 for the sixth consecutive season. They have done this by facing a mix of weaker ACC teams as well as embarrassed some of the more competitive squads. This past Saturday, the Tigers hosted a struggling Syracuse team where the offense continued to roll in a big way.

The Tigers out-gained the Orange in total yards 455-325 as well as first downs 27-11. They continue to show their dynamic ability on the offensive side of the ball with elite run and pass games. Star quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for 289 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. His interception to redshirt freshman cornerback Garrett Williams was the first pick-six of his career.

Running back Travis Etienne had 86 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries as he averaged 5.4 yards per rush.

The Tigers also won the turnover battle significantly as Lawrence’s interception was the only mistake. The Orange, however, had four turnovers with three interceptions and a fumble coming from quarterback Rex Culpepper.

Clemson will host Boston College (4-2, 3-2 ACC) on Saturday night. The margin of how dominant the Tigers are compared to the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Ohio State Buckeyes is shrinking.

Clemson is still showing why it’s the team to beat and it’ll start to play more competitive opponents. The Tigers will face three teams that have a .500 or better record with two of them being on the road.
