3. Ohio State Buckeyes (1-0)

In the first game for the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes (1-0), they did not disappoint as they dismantled the Nebraska Cornhuskers at home, 52-17.

The Buckeyes, led by star quarterback Justin Fields, were able to score 14 points in each of the first, third and fourth quarters. This was a statement win for the Buckeyes as they had to start their season late with fewer games than the ACC and the SEC.

The Buckeyes’ offense was 8-for-13 on third-down conversions and 2-for-2 on fourth-downs. Fields passed for 276 yards, two touchdowns and had a QBR of 97 while completing 20-of-21 passes. He also rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

The Buckeyes rushed the ball 45 times against the underwhelming Cornhuskers defense for 215 yards and four touchdowns. Garrett Wilson caught seven passes for 129 yards and a touchdown.

There are several things that the Buckeyes will need to fix up on their defense. Against Nebraska, the Buckeyes allowed 210 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 36 carries. They will need to be more alert in future games in Big Ten play as they will face much better teams than Nebraska.

This Saturday, the Buckeyes will travel to Happy Valley as they take on No. 18 Penn State (0-1) which is coming off a tough 36-35 road loss to the Indiana Hoosiers. The matchups against Penn State are always tight and unpredictable despite the Buckeyes winning the last three.
