SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 9: Ole Miss crashes and burns
By Shelbie Warr
The Wildcats fell to Missouri, 20-10. A usually opportunistic defense was simply outplayed by Missouri and that was disappointing for the Big Blue faithful for sure. Now, they prepare to face off a strong defense in the Georgia Bulldogs this week. Things could get ugly real quick for the Wildcats if they aren’t careful.
After a win over South Carolina behind freshman quarterback TJ Finley to get back on track, LSU is up to No. 9 in the power rankings. Now, the question is this: which quarterback do they roll with against Auburn if Myles Brennan is available? Which quarterback is the best option? That will be a question that can only be answered on a Saturday afternoon.
The Volunteers have proven one thing, that it is not the “Decade of the Vols.” There is a lot of growing to do before we get to that. This past week, they fell to Alabama — something that was obviously expected — and as a result did not move around much at all. Now, they have a week off to prepare for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The Missouri Tigers are now coming off back to back wins over LSU and Kentucky. As a result of that, they are moved up to No. 7 in the power rankings. Led by Connor Bazleak and Larry Rountree, the Tigers are doing a great job of putting together quality, strong wins at least for them. Now, they prepare to take on the Florida Gators.
