Pick Analysis. Iowa State Cyclones. player. Scouting Report. 4-2. won 52-22 at Kansas. 19. 837

Iowa State kept themselves in the Big 12 discussion in Week 9 with a 52-22 takedown of Kansas on the road in Lawrence. After the narrow loss to Oklahoma State a week earlier, it was just what Matt Campbell’s team needed to recover their momentum. The Cyclones secured their spot in the AP Top 25 for another week and could even move up a spot or two in the rankings.

Breece Hall kept up his streak of topping triple digits on the ground, rushing for 185 yards and two touchdowns against the Jayhawks. Brock Purdy had a solid game through the air, tossing two scoring strikes and piling up 239 yards on 23-of-34 passing. The Cyclones defense dominated Kansas when the Jayhawks had the ball, holding the home team to 240 total yards in the runaway win.

Baylor comes to Ames in Week 10 before the Cyclones get a much-needed rest the following weekend. If they take down the Bears at home, Iowa State will set themselves up for what could essentially become a Big 12 championship game play-in against Kansas State on November 21.
