2. Auburn’s offense dominated all day

LSU wasn’t able to convert their first two drives into any points on the board, and in their third drive, Cade York missed the 54-yard field goal attempt. Auburn kept LSU from reaching the endzone for the entire first half.

They had the one missed field goal attempt, and then Cade put a 50-yard field goal through the posts as the clock ticked to zero to end the first half. Auburn went into the locker room on top 21-3. LSU had to come out of the locker room stronger on both sides of the ball if they hoped to recover and take back the game.

It wasn’t a good start for LSU as in the first drive Finley had a pass intercepted by Big Kat Byrant and gave the ball right back to Auburn. They went three and out in their next drive and were forced to punt the ball in between Auburn’s touchdowns.

LSU finally put their first touchdown of the game up when Max Johnson threw the ball to Kayshon Boutte for a 57-yard touchdown pass. LSU successfully completed the two-point conversion and the score was 48-11 with just under nine minutes left in the game.
