15. Syracuse (1-6, 1-5)

The Syracuse Orange are trending in the wrong direction. Their 38-14 loss to Wake Forest was their fourth in a row. During this losing streak, Syracuse has allowed 35 or more points in every game during this streak. The streak has also included a loss to Liberty. The irony is their struggles offensively, and Dino Babers is supposed to be an offensive coach.

14. Louisville (2-5, 1-5)

The Louisville Cardinals, much like Syracuse, are trending in the wrong direction. Before their win against Florida State, the Cardinals had lost four consecutive games. The Cardinals could not follow up the win, losing to Virginia Tech 42-35 at home. Once again, the offense sputtered early, and the defense could not pick them up. Scott Satterfield has to address the defense in the offseason.

13. Florida State (2-4, 1-4)

The Florida State Seminoles are averaging 19.2 points per game in conference this season. That is not the most troubling of statistics. The defense, which features several potential top 50 NFL draft picks, has allowed 37.2 points per game in conference play this season. This is a zero year for Mike Norvell — as it should be. What is most interesting is who Norvell’s quarterback of the future might be. Travis, Rodemaker or Purdy?

12. Duke (2-5, 1-5)

The Blue Devils played their plus one game defeating Charlotte 53-19. The Blue Devils ran for six touchdowns and 274 yards in the win. Because of the run game, Chase Brice threw the football only 14 times in this game. The defense was effective against an inferior opponent. This game for Duke was an opportunity to get things right. The rest of their schedule has some wins on it; what matters is how Brice plays.
