3. Ohio State Buckeyes (2-0)

No. 3 Ohio State had a big game ahead of it a week after dominating the Nebraska Cornhuskers 52-17 at home. Ohio State knew it could not give the No. 18 Penn State Nittany Lions an opportunity to bounce back after their 36-35 overtime loss to Indiana the previous week.

The Buckeyes’ defense, which had a ton of questions with their departing players, did a great job of suppressing the offense of Penn State. The Buckeye defense held the Nittany Lions to only 325 total yards with 44 of them coming from the rushing game on 27 rushing attempts.

Defensive tackle Tommy Togiai had a ridiculous game as he accounted for seven total tackles, four solos and three of the team’s five sacks.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Buckeyes had 526 total yards with 318 of them coming from the passing game. Heavy Heisman Trophy contender in quarterback Justin Fields passed for 318 yards, four touchdowns and a 97.2 QBR on 28-of-34 completions.

The Buckeyes are turning into one of the most dynamic and productive passing teams due to the effectiveness Fields as a passer and the reliability of their starting receiving corps.

The Buckeyes will now face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (1-1) this upcoming Saturday, which is a team they rarely have trouble with. The Buckeyes have no room for error in the limited schedule given to them by the Big Ten.
