1. USC (vs. Arizona State)

Jayden Daniels is a future superstar at quarterback and he’s the primary reason why Arizona State is in contention to pull the upset.

Daniels completed 61 percent of his passes last year with a solid 17-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. As only a sophomore, he’ll improve even more. This is a statement game for Daniels.

USC is loaded, particularly on offense, but we say that every year. At least on paper, USC looks like the team to beat in the Pac-12 South. That road gets a lot more difficult if they can’t beat Arizona State.

“Is Texas back” and “no really, Michigan is for real this year” are two statements that you could easily modify and mold perfectly to the USC football program. They have a solid quarterback, good receivers and a good defense. But again, they always do.

This just seems like the kind of game USC would lose under Clay Helton.
