2. Unhealthy Broncos stood no chance here

On Friday, Boise State looked nothing like they did through the first two games. A lot of this has to do with the Broncos’ quarterback situation that is a bit unclear at the moment.

They are also dealing with a number of key injuries early on. Their starting quarterback, Hank Bachmeier has missed the last two games with an undisclosed injury.

The Broncos lost defensive end Demitri Washington for the remainder of the 2020 season after an ACL injury last week. Starting defensive back JL Skinner was also unavailable against BYU.

It is unfortunate, but a reality that many teams have had to face in the past. Boise State is still early in their season and has hope going forward sitting at 2-1. But, they will need to get healthy quickly if they want to get back to the top of the Mountain West.

Friday was a brutal showing at home for Boise State. It will get a chance next week to make its limited crowd happy once again when it welcomes in Colorado State next Thursday.
