4. FAU (at FIU)

Always an intense rivalry game, the FAU Owls will head South to Miami to take on the FIU Panthers on Friday night. It’s a rivalry game called the Shula Bowl, and in recent years Lane Kiffin has made it a one-sided game. The closest from Kiffin’s three seasons in Boca Raton came in 2017, when FAU won by 28. This season, FAU is 3-1 and FIU is 0-3.

At a glance, FIU stands no chance.

Here’s the thing, Kiffin is gone and FAU’s offense has struggled in year one under Willie Taggart. Through those four games quarterback Nick Tronti only has 490 passing yards. Their leading rusher, Malcolm Davidson, only has 195 yards on the season. The offense hasn’t gotten past 24 points this season and twice was held to 10 points or less.

With an offense that unstable FAU will always be vulnerable, especially in a rivalry game.
