1. Cal at Arizona State

In the Pac-12, we know who we think is good and who is bad. Last week, Arizona State all but beat the favorite to win the Pac-12 South. A couple bad bounces kept them from overcoming USC though, and as Bill Parcels said, you are what your record says you are. As for Cal, it doesn’t have a record yet, as its game against Washington was cancelled by COVID-19 last week.

Here’s what we think we know about Cal. They should have an excellent defense. That’s been the pride of the program under Justin Wilcox, and there’s been no signs of change there. If they can put it all together on offense, they could compete for the Pac-12 North.

As for Arizona State, they know who their quarterback is, Jayden Daniels who is arguably the best quarterback in the Pac-12, even better than USC’s Kedon Slovis.

This should be a great matchup between a top tier defense and a top tier quarterback. On a six-game schedule for each team, it might even impact who wins the conference despite only being the second weekend for the Pac-12.
