4. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (6-0)

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had their biggest win in quite some time as they beat No. 1 Clemson 47-40 in double overtime. This was the biggest win for head coach Brian Kelly in his 10 years with the Fighting Irish.

The Irish offense accounted for 518 total yards with 208 of them coming from the run game on 40 carries for an average of 5.2 yards per rush and three touchdowns. Kyren Williams rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries for an average of 6.1 yards.

Ian Book had the biggest game of his career as he passed for 310 yards and a touchdown on 22-of-39 completions.

The run defense was huge at the most appropriate time as it forced a freshman to put the game in his own hands (or arm). The Irish had two sacks and 10 tackles for loss.

Notre Dame is currently the AP’s second-ranked team in the nation because of its big win over Clemson. The Irish are the only undefeated team remaining in the ACC. They have a big task ahead of them to remain undefeated going into the ACC title game.
