College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 12
By Zach Bigalke
Oregon is at risk of falling behind in the Pac-12 North, after they went into the locker room down 19-14 at halftime against Washington State. The Ducks look on pace to fall to 1-1 in the young Pac-12 season, falling at least 10 spots in the AP Top 25. As a result, Oregon will drop out of the discussion for the College Football Playoff.
Tyler Shough looked solid in the first half of his second start at quarterback, throwing for 172 yards with a touchdown and an interception on 12-of-18 passing. CJ Verdell only had 25 yards and a rushing touchdown through the first two quarters. Oregon’s defense failed to clamp down on Washington State, allowing the Cougars to rack up 246 total yards of offense in the first half on their home turf in Pullman.
If they do go on to lose to Washington State, look for the Ducks to fall somewhere into the low 20s of the AP Top 25. If they do come back, they will fall closer to the top 10. Either way, they have more tough tests ahead of them.
