3. A good quarterback goes a long way

If any Hoosier fan questioned whether or not the right quarterback transferred, Michael Penix has removed all doubts. So far this year, the Alabama native has thrown for 750 yards and seven touchdowns.

Though Peyton Ramsey has played well for Northwestern, Penix has proven to be the quarterback that can take the Hoosiers to the next level.

First-year head coach Mel Tucker has had no such luck. Though the COVID-19 crisis has made this a zero year, the Spartans have gotten inconsistent play from the quarterback position. Tucker was hired after signing day, so the new staff could not bring in a quarterback they recruited.

Rocky Lombardi is not the future of the program. At this point, it might be time to hand the ball to either Peyton Thorne or Theo Day.
