Loser: SMU (Unranked)

SMU has had a fine season up to this point and until yesterday, their only loss had been to a top 10 Cincinnati team who is playing very well. SMU jumped out to a big lead over Tulsa, but could not hold and lost the game and therefore dropped out of the AP Poll.

SMU has a chance to get back in the rankings, but yesterday’s game was definitely a gut punch to a team that was having a great season.

Loser: Miami (Down to No. 12)

Miami pulled put a very gutsy victory yesterday, as they went on the road and took down a solid Virginia Tech team by a score of 25-24. Miami trailed most of the game, but found a way to win in the end and keep their ACC championship game hopes alive. Miami was down 13 players and almost did not play according to head coach Manny Diaz.

In return, Miami was dropped three spots in the AP Poll and putting them outside of the top 10. The Canes have a chance to finish strong and get to 10-1 however and that will get them back in the top 10.
